English Lessons
The “total immersion” experience of intensive lessons and daily conversation practice really is the quickest and most effective way to learn a language.
The courses you can study here at Homestay-on-Sea are:
- General English
- Business / Professional English
- Conversation Classes
- Exam Preparation
You are welcome to choose a combination of these courses if you wish. You can have as few as 10 or as many as 30 lessons each week.
Courses are normally one-to-one (1:1) but if you have a friend whose level of English and needs are similar to yours, you can choose our Two-to-One (2:1) or Small Group course where two or more students can share the lessons for a considerably reduced cost. |
|

You will complete a placement test at the beginning of the course so that together we can identify your strengths and weaknesses. I will then design and deliver a teaching programme to suit you.
At the end of your course I will offer you suggestions and recommendations for future study so you can continue learning when you get home. |
General English Course
Course aims and objectives are to improve:

When you have completed your test we can identify your aims and objectives and create your course. Every student has a personal programme which targets their personal strengths and weaknesses, and every course is different.
I teach using a wide variety of course books, magazines, newspapers, tapes and CDs as well as my own teaching material which makes the courses both varied and interesting.

Conversation Classes
Do you want to practise your English with a native speaking English teacher?
Whatever your level there is always something to learn – new vocabulary or colloquial items, for example. Some students choose conversation topics from their own subject areas of interest - the choice is yours. Lively conversation is a great way to improve your fluency - you can enjoy the lesson and learn at the same time. |

Young Learners
and their Families
I welcome learners of any age, from young children up to teens and young adults.
For younger students learning is not only classroom based – I like to use a variety of activities such as cooking, music and art to keep my little learners focused.
Our house is ideal for young people as well as adult learners because we have our own children.
As parents we understand the worry and stress that parents feel when their children travel alone for the first time. We take full parental responsibility for those children under the age of 16 years who come alone. We are happy for you to keep in touch with your child by phone / email during the stay. |
|

We also welcome families here – you can combine English lessons for some, or all, of the family together with a great family holiday! We’ve had quite a number of families stay with us, all with great success!
