Food
We all eat together as a family in our modern kitchen diner, and meals are a always sociable occasion in our house. We love good food, and really enjoy cooking and trying out new dishes. We bake our own bread, and we cook traditional English and Scottish food, as well as international dishes such as Asian, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine.
Hastings is a fishing town renowned for it’s fresh fish. Fish dishes often feature on our menu, and we make sure we only buy fish caught locally, using sustainable fishing methods, by Hastings’ MSC certified fishing fleet.
We welcome vegetarian guests, and we have plenty of experience in preparing meals suitable for people with special dietary requirements, for example, those with food allergies. We like to involve our guests in weekly menu planning, so we know they will enjoy the food we serve.
The following typical menus will give you an idea of the type of food we serve: |

Every fortnight we have a Farmers’ Market in Hastings where local farmers can sell their produce. We buy seasonal vegetables here when we can.
We are also very lucky to have a fishing fleet here in Hastings which has won the Sustainable Fishing Industry Award, and we make sure our fish is locally sourced where possible.

Britain has had a negative reputation for cuisine and many guests have said that before their stay they worried that they would not like the food in Britain. The following testimonials show that they have all enjoyed our cooking! |
